A Red Carpet Charity Event honoring Michael Jackson

On August 23rd, m.a.m.a. e a r t h will hold their next red carpet charity event that will pay tribute to Michael Jackson. Proceeds will benefit the residents of VS-65, a program of Volunteers of America Los Angeles on Skid Row.  The program helps homeless veterans achieve self-sufficiency and independence.

m.a.m.a. e a r t h’s launch party back in June brought out the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Carmit Bachar (of The Pussycat Dolls), Zack Ward (from Transformers) and more. m.a.m.a. e a r t h showcased the best of artistry and music and if it’s true that consciousness is magnetic, it’s easy to see what Kailani’s vision for m.a.m.a. e a r t h looks like – beautiful, lighthearted and full of creative energy.

The show will celebrate the legacy that is Michael Jackson with many celebrity appearances. Guest DJs will include Tony Okungbowa (from  the Ellen DeGeneres show) and Tre Hardison (of The Pharcyde) and Matt Robinson. Performances will include Kim Hill (former vocalist of the Black Eyed Peas), and Bruno Mars. From LA’s own 89.9 KCRW to Power 106, BET and MTV, you can bet that some of the songs you’ve been turning up on the radio by K’Naan, Adam Levine and Matisyahu have been written and produced by Bruno Mars.  In recent shows, Bruno’s been closing with a cover of Dirty Diana that “blows your skull off” and reminds us why Michael Jackson was such a prolific artist.  There’s no denying the influence Mike had on all modern-day songwriters and entertainers.

“Michael Jackson is an indelible part of pop culture and no matter your interests or background, he is part of the collective consciousness,” says Kailani.  “His humanitarian work that supported so many charities is an example that inspires us at m.a.m.a e a r t h.”

The event takes place on August 23rd at Zanzibar, one of Santa Monica’s premiere nightspots known for it’s sexy, stylish atmosphere and incredible music.  June’s kickoff event at Dakota Lounge raised funds to provide Vitameals and buy bricks to build a new school in Sierra Leone.  Come to Zanzibar on the 23rd, enjoy the show and be a part of what m.a.m.a. e a r t h stands for.

Check out Bruno Mars rocking the m.a.m.a. e a r t h stage!
