m.a.m.a. e a r t h partners with Sustainable Kids

The team at m.a.m.a. e a r t h is getting ready for their next wave of worldwide growth. The community organization is one-part charity and one-part social enterprise founded by Jaime Kailani Bayot.  She’s a mama of two beautiful sons and her little brother happens to be Grammy-award winner, Bruno Mars. Bruno’s explosive worldwide success is giving m.a.m.a. e a r t h a global reach and they’re looking forward to widening the scope of their work.  Since 2007, m.a.m.a. e a r t h has been using art, music and popular culture to raise awareness and funds for local and global causes.  For m.a.m.a. e a r t h’s upcoming crowdfunding campaign, they’re partnering with the globally responsible and eco-savvy clothing company Sustainable Kids to offer custom-made rewards for donating.

Sustainable Kids is manufactured entirely in the USA and uses certified organic cottons, recycled yarns and hemp blends. All dyes are GOTS-certified and screen printing inks are lead and phthalate-free. Even the labels and hangtags are made from recycled materials. As a designer, sustainable business advocate, and mother, founder Maia Andersen is committed to encouraging responsible consumerism and global compassion through her kids collection. Andersen is one of few U.S. designers accepted at the Ethical Fashion Show in Paris, and Esthetica at London Fashion Week. With over 15 years experience as creative director and apparel designer, Andersen has directed and developed apparel collections for global brands such as Roxy/Quiksilver, Oakley and The North Face.

One of the best things about Sustainable Kids is their Gift that Gives Twice Program. This program allows kids to donate needed items to kids and schools in challenged and impoverished areas around the world.  You can “gift” a Sustainable Kids item to your child or another and then the child uses the box to donate needed items to their partner school in Haiti.  These donations help over 300 kids at Open Door Haiti make the most of their education by providing needed items for kids like toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap and ointments.

Rewards for donating to their Rockethub campaign will include organic Tshirts featuring original artwork  by Grammy and MTV award winning graphic artist Shah Wonders. m.a.m.a. e a r t h founder Jaime Kailani Bayot says, “We wanted to show our gratitude for the people who are showing their support for our project from places like Dubai, Europe, Brazil, the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Canada and more.”  We started with an idea to use our gifts and talents to make a difference and never dreamed about how far and wide our message might travel.
