m.a.m.a. earth is a grassroots community organization that uses the power of art, music and nature to make a change for the better, locally and globally. We are very proud of the m.a.m.a. earth chapters around the world that have been inspired to take the mission into their own hands and make a difference in their own communities.
Mina Zulal is a 15 year old girl from Hamburg, Germany and has completed many missions for m.a.m.a. earth from fundraising, interning in California with m.a.m.a. earth affiliate, Center for Living Peace, and even coordinating this year’s promotional video for our annual fundraising campaign. This year, for Earth Day, Mina worked together with her school’s climate work group, a non-profit called Plant-for-the-Planet and m.a.m.a. earth.
To celebrate the day, the students first listened to a talk about the current state of our environment and the consequences of global warming. Then, the students played a game that would get them to think more about the current situation relating to our carbon emissions and what each one of us can do to be a part of the solution. The whole group had to think and work together about how population, emissions and money affect all the continents around the world.
The day ended with 120 students planting over 200 trees at a beautiful park in Hamburg, Germany.
