Common Culture on Sept 18th

Common Culture: Across the Water

Common Culture: Across the Water is a one-night-only concert  under the summer sky at the historic Ford Theatres in Hollywood that celebrates intersections of island culture in Los Angeles with music, drum and dance. The show features performances from Chloe x Halle, Mark de Clive-LoweJungle FireBrit Manor + special guests. We’ve gathered some of the best music and dance that Los Angeles has to offer with a mix of reggae, Afrobeat, jazz, electronic, pop and soul.

The wildly talented Chloe x Halle are the sister duo signed to Beyonce’s Parkwood Entertainment label and have been opening the Formation World Tour in Europe all summer. We are so excited to welcome them back home to Los Angeles for this magical show under the stars!

A concert that brings together celebrated musicians, singers, drummers and dancers who have achieved national and international success to honor the pillars of their respective communities before an audience of this magnitude is a precious gem in Los Angeles.

A portion of proceeds from the show will give back to several initiatives including:

  • New Earth Life, transforming the lives of teens coming out of the (broken) justice system
  • Project 509, providing water filtration systems to rural villages in Haiti and
  • #HappyPeriod, promoting dignity for homeless girls & women all over the US.

What will you find when you check out the Ford this summer? A new stage, new lights and new sound! Bring a picnic (wine and beer permitted) or grab a bite at the new grab-&-go market. Gather in the courtyard with your friends and watch LAs Freshest artists do what they do best.
