Valerie Zaks – mother, grandmother, longshoreman, activist and artist – curated the event, entitled COLORING MANDALAS. A mandala is a spiritual symbol representing the universe. Mandalas can be found in every culture and religion. Coloring Mandalas is a way to express hidden parts of yourself and explore the spiritual process as it unfolds with color and texture.

Benefits of mandalas include:
1. Relieve tension, anxiety, fear and worry
2. Relax and heal the mind, body and spirit.
3. Stimulate creative thinking and problem-solving.
What a lovely and uplifting afternoon for all as we experienced this simple but profound ancient art form for all ages!
