Join the m.a.m.a. e a r t h family this Spring for its 7th weekend retreat at the beautiful White Lotus in Santa Barbara, California. Spend 2 days and 2 nights relaxing, take an easygoing yoga class, get a massage, spend time with friends, eat healthy gourmet food, take a hike, stand under the waterfall, soak in the hot tub and sauna with a breathtaking view and get your nature-loving on!
Nestled in a steep canyon on 40 acres in the Santa Ynez Mountains, once sacred Chumash land, White Lotus overlooks Santa Barbara, the Pacific Ocean, and Channel Islands. In the spirit of what the Chumash called Taklushmon, or the gathering place, this world-renowned yoga center features a large yoga room, an underground Hopi-style kiva, ocean-view plateaus, sandstone swimming holes, a hot-tub with a breathtaking view, a roof-deck for sunbathing and lounging, hiking trails, and a library-media center. The White Lotus is the perfect blend of nature and luxury.
Q: What kinds of people go to a retreat like this?
A: All kinds of people! Filmmakers, urban farmers, doctors, long shoreman, teachers, dancers, writers, mamas, papas, sons and daughters – you name it!
Q: Where will I sleep?
A: In a yurt. A yurt is a circular, dome shaped structure with wooden floors, skylights, windows, heat, electricity and Balinese daybeds with delicious linens. Each yurt has 3 beds. You can share a yurt with your friend(s) or we’ll pair you up with compatible roomies. You can also pay extra to have your own yurt or pay extra for one of the cabins on the White Lotus property. (If you’d like to camp, pay a lower cost and sleep on a comfy futon in an already pitched tent on a raised platform with blankets and drinking water.)
White Lotus is the perfect blend of luxury and nature!
Q: I don’t practice yoga – do I have to be “in shape” for the classes? Do I have to take the classes at all?
A: Several yoga classes with Andrea and Kyona will be offered over the weekend and are completely optional. The classes are perfect for every level of yoga experience. Classes include meditation, movement & relaxation, combined with eclectic music from internationally celebrated producer and DJ Carlos Nino, to create a special atmosphere. To make your experience exceptional, Kyona gives hands-on adjustments and bodywork during yoga classes.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: We strive to make the weekend affordable for everyone and keep the price low. It’s $475 if you stay in a yurt. $400 if you camp. The price includes accommodations, all food (6 meals) and yoga classes.
Extras include massage ($95), ayurvedic facials ($80), astro-readings with Sonja Marie ($60), private cabins range from $100-$250 extra. Email email@example.com for more about the private cabins available.
Q: I want to go, how do I sign up?
A: Click here for PayPal and check options. Make a $125 deposit to save your space. You can pay in installments or in a lump sum. Whatever works best for you.

After leading group and private classes in Southern California for years, Andrea’s emphasis is on Viniyoga – integrating breath and movement and helping others cultivate a more personal practice. Imagine having a sacred conversation with one of your closest friends, who happens to be from New York. She’s honest, secure, full of information yet non judgmental…that’s the feeling you get when you experience an astrology/intuitive reading with Sonja Marie. She uses the complex wonders of western astrology via your personal natal chart, coupled with the vulnerable insight to communicate with anothers’ ancestors and guides. Sonja will encourage you to explore within, the strength and the ability to “HEAL THY SELF”. Reference materials and practices are suggested with the reading to enable you to “do the work” by being a captain of your existence. Sonja’s mission is to reveal the truth, examine the wounds and accept a better tomorrow, today. Her readings have changed lives and opened hearts. What better way to honor ourselves by assisting each other in this journey called life.
Erika Elizondo is a Holistic Health Counselor, dancer, performer, artist and art educator who first learned about healing through nutrition as a very young child from her herbalist grandmother. She gained a huge arsenal of nutritional knowledge throughout her life, but when she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis, an autoimmune disorder, she became more impassioned than ever to learn how this happened and what she can do to heal herself – in spite of all the doctors who told her it was impossible to cure. Through her extensive research she became convinced that a congested liver is the root of all illness. As a result, she developed the annual 40 Day Healing Journey, a lifestyle overhaul program designed to restore optimal liver function and radiant health. She enlisted 70 of her closest friends as guinea pigs for the first 40 Day Healing Journey in 2010 and discovered that the Power of Mother Earth to heal us was greater than what she could have ever imagined possible. She received countless testimonials from participants who had completely healed or diminished whatever was ailing them at the time. She also successfully normalized her thyroid without medication and became pregnant 4 months later (after being threatened with infertility due to her “condition.”) She now has an incredibly bright and beautiful little girl and has led hundreds of people through the intensely personal, yet community based 40 Day Healing Journey. In this workshop you will learn the top ten lifestyle changes you can make to strengthen your liver and optimize your quality of life and health.
