Description: Tuskegee, Alabama: In celebration of the beginning of National Health Week, the National Park Service is sponsoring a “Grow Where You Are!” gardening workshop on Saturday, March 31st with Eugene Cooke. The program will be held at the George Washington Carver Museum beginning with a children’s workshop from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., followed by a workshop for all ages from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Eugene Cooke is an Urban Farmer who engages people of all ages with his hands-on learning experiences and lectures designed to help cultivate the nurturing sensibility that is crucial to human evolution. He has been growing food and developing creative partnerships for over a decade in places all over the United States as well as Jamaica, Tanzania, and Kenya. Learn how the garden encourages a cleaner diet, inspires us to share our bounty and helps us to reconnect to our center. Eugene will inspire you with ideas and practical information about growing food and connecting the garden with your health and wellness.
