“You’re such a survivor. Your story is such an empowering, encouraging, triumphant victory of life and perseverance and sacrifice, dedication and commitment. We can’t help but all be inspired by it.” -Cee Lo Green
Last May, m.a.m.a. earth was lucky enough to witness an acoustic performance from Jamar Rogers at the monthly Sound Lab charity shows we co-present with GreenRoots Productions. Jamar’s soulful voice is gripping and he had the whole audience enraptured. Many discovered Jamar as he became a finalist on The Voice. Since then, Jamar has appeared on popular shows such as The Today Show, Ellen, CNN, and has been featured in publications like USA Today, Billboard, The Huffington Post and many more.
The only thing we love more than Jamar’s voice is his incredible heart. He is actively working in his community to demystify HIV/AIDS along with doing his best to spread a message of hope and second chances to a generation of young people. Aside from singing, Jamar has also been given great recognition for his ability as an inspirational speaker, and has been invited to speak at several colleges, charities and award shows. Jamar also had the opportunity to be a performer and speaker at the AIDS conference in Washington, DC. Jamar is a true example of what we should all strive for – living our dreams no matter the obstacles we’ve encountered and never forgetting to help others along the way.
Currently, Jamar is recording an album called “Lazarus” set for release in Summer 2013, and recently dropped a new single on itunes called “High.” In addition to recording, he is touring across the country packing out venues, while drawing crowds of all ages with his soulful voice.
Tonight, m.a.m.a. earth will be in the house for Jamar’s charity concert at Supperclub in Hollywood as he helps raise money for Hollywood Heart, a nonprofit organization that opens doors for teens and young adults who are at-risk and/or affected by HIV/AIDS through educational arts workshops and annual summer camp.
You can watch tonight’s show from home by clicking HERE. Tickets are “Pay What You Can” and all proceeds go to Hollywood Heart.
