The m.a.m.a. earth project began as artist and philanthropist Jaime Kailani Bayot worked as a Booking Manager for her talented younger brother, Bruno. As she formed relationships with concert venues around Los Angeles, she was inspired to use these relationships to do something good for others. She’d already created the m.a.m.a. earth “Wish Bracelet” to help schools with fundraising and in 2009, she hosted a launch party at Dakota Lounge in Santa Monica with performances by Bruno Mars, Allensworth, Carmit Bachar of The Pussycat Dolls and others to raise money for Shine On Sierra Leone and Nourish the Children. Since that special night, Bruno has gone on to mind-blowing worldwide success and m.a.m.a. earth has grown into a community organization with followers in 40 countries, ongoing all-ages enrichment classes and successful art and music events in the US and abroad.
This August 9th (Sunday), m.a.m.a. earth will continue its tradition of concerts for a good cause with a Private Show at Zanzibar in Santa Monica featuring Common Kings, with opening sets by Shakespeare, JT Harker and Leilani Wolfgramm. DJ sets by West Novena aka Novena Carmel and badtouch.
Common Kings’ style and music is a mix of head nodding beats, feel good vibes, and emotional fever. Their crazy, fun-loving attitude compliments their live sound, producing phenomenal pop hits with rock, reggae, and R&B influences. These influences originate from each band members love for various genres, and widespread knowledge of music.
The members of Common Kings were born in the South Pacific, and raised in Orange County, California. Growing up with households full of colorful personality and vibrant passions for music, Common Kings’ members naturally grew up forming individual musical paths.
Common Kings has reached over 350,000 single downloads and the band was a supporting act on Justin Timberlake’s 20/20 World Experience Tour. Common Kings looks to keep the momentum alive while preparing for their first album drop in Fall of 2015. Grab your tickets and tell a friend!
